Peak District Landscapes by Philip Dyke

Philip was born in Ripley, Derbyshire in 1953 and from an early age, he had a passion for drawing and painting.  He has always loved walking in the Derbyshire countryside and his love of the landscape was his inspiration to begin to capture the beauty of what surrounded him, drawing and painting the ever changing seasons, and how the landscape is affected by these changes.

Philip sometimes draws and paints a scene completely outdoors, the pleasure in painting "Plein Air" is the stimulus to try to capture the beauty that surrounds us.  On other occasions he will take his sketches back to the studio, to do a more refined painting employing his preferred mediums of Oils, Watercolour and Pastel.
