Kristan
Baggaley |
||||
Kristan Baggaley regularly visits the Peak District from Sheffield for walks and inspiration and has an intimate knowledge of the edges and moorlands throughout the changing seasons. Influenced by Turner and Girtin, his paintings reveal the atmosphere and space of the landscape in it's various moods. The paintings reflect a weathered theme of the earth yielding its colours of bracken and heathers to warm sunlight in windswept Peak District valley and moorland views. Kristan uses textured layers of paint mixed with sand and gritstone to create sculptured canvases that emit a light and shadow of their own to portray the subtly changing colour and mood of the landscape in different light. |
