Jane Upstone is an artist living and working in Derbyshire.  Her work is a way of exploring the world around her, with the landscape playing an important inspirational role. She aims to conjure the emotion and atmosphere of places both real and imagined rather than create literal views of them. There is frequently a theme of interpreting the subtle changes that occur in the landscape through both natural forces and the influence of man.
Since completing her degree at Reading University Jane has worked both as an artist and art teacher. She has exhibited across the UK in both group and solo shows and her work is in private collections in the UK and USA.
