Peak District Landscapes by Alison Tyldesley

Alison moved to Sheffield  in 1975 after graduating in Fine Art from Exeter.  Since then she has lived, worked and painted in Sheffield.  She now works full time in a studio at home as well as teaching art classes on an occasional basis.  Her recent work arises from a love of landscape based on many years of walking, observing and drawing in the Peak District.  She is inspired by the drama of landscape including rapidly changing weather, light and colour.  Her paintings emerge over time as she layers paint to create texture, movement, light and tone.  She draws on memory and imagination as well as her landscape sketches to create contemporary expressionistic paintings capturing the drama of landscape using textured and gestural paint.
